PCX Solutions recently joined partners across the world in Salvador, Brazil, for the First Annual Plastic Reboot Conference (October 22-24, 2025), representing the Philippines alongside UNIDO and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR). Hosted by the Government of Brazil, the event brought together governments, Global Environment Facility (GEF) Secretariat, UN agencies, private sector and civil society to accelerate the shift toward circular systems.
Over three days of discussions, working group meetings, field visits, and networking activities, participants from 14 countries shared experiences, lessons, and built new partnerships. The emphasis was on practical collaboration and real progress.
For PCX Solutions, the conference offered both inspiration and insight. The Philippines has long faced the impact of plastic pollution, and seeing how others are advancing circular solutions, from inclusive waste systems to new business models, reinforced the value of international cooperation combined with strong local action.
We look ahead to the coming years as the Plastic Reboot program comes into full swing, and to more learning exchanges with impact-oriented partners in the project ecosystem.

Plastic Reboot is a global program that partners with governments, businesses, civil society organizations, and experts to build systems that keep plastic out of nature, transforming how the food and the beverage industry uses plastic. Supported by the GEF, co-led by UNEP and WWF, and implemented in partnership with UNDP and UNIDO, it is the first initiative at this scale aimed at addressing plastic pollution through upstream and midstream circular solutions.
