Plastic Reboot organized a series of events ahead of the INC 5.2 negotiations in Geneva on August 4, 2025, and we were honored to have our Managing Director Stefanie Beitien participate in the program’s event.

Plastic Reboot is a global program that partners with governments, businesses, civil society organizations, and experts to build systems that keep plastic out of nature, transforming how the food and the beverage industry uses plastic. Delivered through a Global Project and implemented within a suite of 15 country-level National Projects, it is the first initiative at this scale aimed at addressing plastic pollution through upstream and midstream circular solutions. It is supported by the Global Environment Facility (GEF), co-led by the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) and World Wildlife Fund (WWF), and implemented in partnership with the UN Development Programme (UNDP) and the UN Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).

The Plastic Reboot event brought together representatives from multilaterals, government, and implementing organizations around the world for a day of working sessions and panel discussions on solutions that combat the plastic crisis at scale.

We look forward to the next five years as Plastic Reboot is fully activated in its partner countries, including the Philippines. We are grateful for the opportunity to interact with and learn from its program stakeholders. Nothing is more invigorating than being surrounded by allies with the same vision: a world where nature and people are free from plastic pollution. Forever.
